Plasma Next for Debian 13
Plasma Next provides recent KDE desktop packages for Debian 13 (trixie) on amd64. The suite includes Plasma 6.8.2, Qt 6.11.2 and KDE Frameworks 6.31.0, along with Discover, Konsole 26.08.2, Spectacle and Print Manager.
Install
Packages are available from the Plasma Next APT repository. Follow the installation instructions to add the signing key, configure APT and install plasma-next-full.
The suite installs under /opt/plasma and integrates with system desktop services. Plasma Login Manager is the default login manager, with SDDM available as an alternative. After installation, reboot and select Plasma Next (Wayland) at login.
Installing the suite may remove conflicting Debian Plasma components. Review APT's proposed changes before proceeding.
Build and maintain
This Git repository contains the package recipes, patches, desktop integration and build tools for 172 source projects. Each prepared Debian source package can be built independently with standard Debian tools.
